Abhi Samala – Founder & President
Hi, my name is Abhi Samala, and I am a rising senior at SCGSSM. I am a hopeful future physician and I deeply care about the state of SC and want to address the health education gap in underserved rural communities because where someone lives shouldn’t determine whether they live. According to the SC Office of Rural Health, 6 rural hospitals have closed in South Carolina since 2010 leaving only 15 rural hospitals available. Out of those 15 Hospitals, only 4 are critical access hospitals which means that people in rural areas will most likely have to drive a further distance in case of an emergency.
Sreemedha Samala – VP of Communications
Hi, my name is Sreemedha Samala and I am a rising sophomore at Fort Mill High School. I am a hopeful future physician and I support providing more access to healthcare-related education to those in rural areas. I wish to support them because I believe that health education should be provided for all.
