Why it Started

I noticed signs of rural communities when I visited India as a kid and saw people outside a temple begging for money to pay hospital bills and buy food. That moment made me wonder why people weren’t getting the help they needed. As I grew older, I came to see issues in rural areas where people would avoid hospitals due to the financial burdens of going to a hospital which led me to create Bridge to Health.

The purpose of Bridge to Health is to connect rural communities with health education resources. It is meant to give me knowledge that helps them make informed decisions through the healthcare system.

I want to close the Health Education gap in underserved communities by raising awareness and sharing resources to help people to realize the options they have available to them.

I hope to create a lasting impact that encourages people to seek out care without the fear of financial burdens. I am also trying to spread more awareness about rural hospitals as some parts of the state have a lack of these hospitals which means that people have to drive further to get the medical attention they need.

As a physician, I would want to expand Bridge to Health into a platform that can connect to patients directly while also being a platform to provide support to those who need it so everyone can have inclusive healthcare.
